215 People’s Alliance is a multi-racial collaborative dedicated to fighting for equity and justice in Philadelphia – at the ballot box, and in the streets. We are parents and neighbors, teachers and students, union members and block captains, cab drivers and cashiers working to unite a broad sector of Philadelphians to make meaningful change.
Leading Campaign
We have a public health crisis on our hands that has directly affected many in our community, and compounded existing racial and economic inequalities. We need an aggressive program at all levels of government to address the virus and its economic fallout, which we will only get with a movement that demands transformative change.
These times call us to invent new organizing methods and practices for long-term power building while also working to meet people’s most basic survival needs. Our Outreach team is reaching out to members and neighbors through phone calls and text messages, checking in during this time of social isolation. In addition, we have started a food security and employment survival project called the People’s Kitchen in collaboration with the popular restaurant South Philly Barbacoa and with support from World Central Kitchen.
